Red Langkawi SkyCab gondolas on the cable line passing a steel tower above the rainforest of Machinchang mountain, with the title Langkawi Cable Car: Ticket Price & Timings

Langkawi cable car ticket price: a standard return ride on the Langkawi SkyCab costs RM85 for a non-Malaysian adult and RM65 for a non-Malaysian child aged 3 to 12. Malaysians pay RM43 (adult) and RM33 (child). Children under 3 ride free. The standard ticket also includes entry to SkyDome, SkyRex and 3D Art Langkawi at the Oriental Village base. To add the SkyBridge, buy the SkyCab + SkyBridge combo: RM89 / RM68 for foreigners and RM47 / RM36 for Malaysians. Normal hours are 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. On weekly maintenance days, which are usually Wednesdays, the cable car opens at 12:00 noon.

Last checked: 4 November 2026. Prices come from the official Langkawi SkyCab booking site, langkawiskycab.my, run by Panorama Langkawi Sdn Bhd (live prices for a visit on 5 November 2026). Hours and closed days come from the official operation calendar on panoramalangkawi.com. Prices are in Malaysian ringgit (RM). Nothing on this page comes from a personal visit.

Live prices on the official booking site langkawiskycab.my for a visit on 5 November 2026, read on 4 November 2026. The site says all prices are in ringgit and can change without notice; the price in your basket at checkout is the one you pay.

The combo is the cheapest way to add the SkyBridge: it costs RM4 more than the standard ticket for adults and RM3 more for children, for both nationality groups.

Glass-bottom, 360°, private and VIP gondolas

Besides the shared Normal Gondola, the official SkyCab page lists four special cabins. They all include the Express Lane. These are the prices shown on the product page (not by nationality). The booking system did not return a dated price for them when we checked, so confirm the amount in your basket.

From the “gondolas at a glance” section of the official SkyCab product page, langkawiskycab.my, read on 4 November 2026. The page says the Normal Gondola costs “RM33 – RM85”, which matches the four standard fares above.

Age bands and who pays which price

  • Adult: age 13 and above.
  • Child: age 3 to 12.
  • Free: children aged 0 to 36 months ride free on every gondola.
  • Malaysian or non-Malaysian: the booking site asks for your nationality and shows the Malaysian or the foreigner price. The pages we checked do not say which ID is checked at the counter. If you buy the Malaysian rate, carry your MyKad or MyKid to be safe.
  • Height: the official pages list age bands only. We found no height rule for the cable car.

What the ticket includes

The standard SkyCab Admission is a round trip on the standard gondola to the Top Station at 708 metres above sea level, with a stop at the Middle Station at 650 metres. It also includes entry to SkyDome, SkyRex and 3D Art Langkawi. On a clear day the official page says you can see as far as southern Thailand from the top.

Not included in the standard ticket: the SkyBridge (buy the combo), SkyGlide, the Eagle’s Nest SkyWalk, Machinchang Petland and 6D Cinemotion.

SkyBridge fee and SkyGlide

The SkyBridge is a 125-metre curved pedestrian bridge hung from a single pylon. It is not part of the standard ticket. Online, the official way to add it is the SkyCab + SkyBridge (Nature Walk) combo: RM89 (adult) and RM68 (child) for foreigners, or RM47 and RM36 for Malaysians.

  • Nature Walk: a forest trail with steps to the bridge. The official SkyGlide page calls it a short but slightly challenging walk of about 10 minutes. It can be slippery after rain, so wear good shoes.
  • SkyGlide: an inclined lift (94 m track, up to 12 people, under 2 minutes one way). It is sold separately at the Top Station ticket counter: RM16 for adults and RM11 for children, for a round trip. One-way tickets for the ride back are sold at a mobile counter at the SkyBridge.
  • When the SkyCab is closed, the SkyBridge, SkyGlide and SkyBistro are also closed.

Note: the official sites describe the start of the Nature Walk and SkyGlide differently (the booking site says from the Middle Station; the SkyGlide page sells tickets at the Top Station counter). Follow the signs and staff on the mountain.

Official operation calendar, panoramalangkawi.com, read on 4 November 2026 (times are Malaysia time). The calendar covers the SkyCab only.

Not every Wednesday is a maintenance day, so check the operation calendar for your date before you book. Online tickets are valid only on the date you choose. The booking system offers boarding time slots from 9:30 am on normal days.

Annual maintenance closure

The SkyCab also closes for a longer yearly maintenance period. In 2026, the official calendar showed a Yearly Closure from 12 July to 23 July, with normal operation again from 24 July. The SkyBridge, SkyGlide and SkyBistro were closed too, while SkyDome, SkyRex, 3D Art Langkawi and 6D Cinemotion stayed open from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. MalaysiaAktif (17 July 2026) reported that the work included sheave checks and repairs, a gearbox change, a new main DC drive motor and electrical checks. No 2027 dates were published when we checked.

Wind, rain and breakdowns

The official help page says the cable car does not run in all conditions and a technical problem can occasionally stop it. The SkyBridge page adds that the bridge may close briefly in high winds or storms. The official pages do not give a wind speed limit. If bad weather or a breakdown stops your ride, an online ticket is not refunded. It can be moved to the next available date or exchanged for another product of the same value (for example 6D Cinemotion or SkyBoutique merchandise). Arrange this at the counter on the day.

How to buy tickets

  1. Book on the official site, langkawiskycab.my. Choose the experience and package, the date, a time slot if the package uses one, and the number of adults and children. Choose Malaysian or non-Malaysian.
  2. Pay online. The booking is confirmed only when the confirmation email arrives, not when the payment screen says paid.
  3. The terms ask you to print the confirmation email and show it at the ticketing counter. Bring your Transaction No.

Rules to know: no cancellations or refunds after confirmation (except a duplicate charge), no date changes, and one ticket per person, matching the party you booked. Group sizes are up to 20 people per online booking.

The SkyCab base station is in the Oriental Village, at the foot of the Machinchang mountain range on the west coast of Langkawi. Address: Cable Car Station, Oriental Village, Burau Bay, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia. Phone: +60 4-961 2000; email [email protected].

  • From Langkawi International Airport: about 20 minutes by car (official visitor information).
  • From Kuah town: about 39 minutes by car (official visitor information).
  • Navigation: the operator suggests searching “Langkawi Cable Car” in Waze or Google Maps.
  • Without a car: use a taxi, an e-hailing ride or a rented car or scooter. The official pages list no public bus to the cable car.

Recent changes and news (last 12 months)

  • July 2026: SkyCab, SkyBridge, SkyGlide and SkyBistro closed from 12 to 23 July for yearly preventive maintenance and reopened on 24 July (official operation calendar; MalaysiaAktif, 17 July 2026).
  • Langkawi residents, October–November 2026: a local bulletin (Buletin Dermaga, shared on transplo.com) reported a walk-in RM10 SkyCab offer for Langkawi residents with a Langkawi-address MyKad or a Langkawi employment pass, from 1 October to 30 November 2026. It is not on the official promotion page, so ask at the counter if it applies to you.
  • June 2026: the official booking site langkawiskycab.my shows payment terms last updated on 1 June 2026 (date-fixed, non-refundable tickets; reschedule or exchange for weather or breakdowns).
  • 2026 offer page: Panorama Langkawi’s “Langkawi SkyCab is Back!” page lists the SkyCab Basic Package as running from 1 January to 31 December 2026.
  • 18 November 2026: a SAREX search and rescue exercise is on the calendar; the SkyCab opens at 12 noon that day.
  • Fares: the standard fares (RM85 / RM65 foreigners, RM43 / RM33 Malaysians) are the same as in a March 2025 guide by MyHalalXplorer, so we found no standard fare increase in the last 12 months. That guide listed the glass-bottom gondola by nationality (RM93 to RM135); the official page now shows one price of RM105 per person.

Tips before you go

  • Go early on a normal day. Visitor reviews shown on the official SkyCab page mention long midday queues; the Express Lane is the paid way around them.
  • Check the operation calendar for Wednesdays and for maintenance notices.
  • Choose a clear morning for the best views. Cloud can cover the top station.
  • Wear shoes with grip if you plan to walk the Nature Walk to the SkyBridge.
