Many pages online say the park is open 11 AM to 11 PM every day except Monday. Delhi Tourism gives Sunday as 10 AM to 10 PM, so Sunday opens an hour earlier and closes an hour earlier. The Delhi Tourism page does not say anything about public-holiday closures, so check before going on a holiday.

Delhi Tourism shows no extra charge for Sundays or holidays, so the table applies to all days the park is open. Some websites claim a higher Sunday fee for adults, which does not appear on the Delhi Tourism page. The corporation school concession is meant for students carrying an ID, according to the 2019 launch report. Ask at the counter if you are unsure whether a seniors’ or students’ concession applies.
Can I buy tickets online?
The Delhi Tourism page does not mention online booking. A May 2024 news report said the Municipal Corporation of Delhi had approved a plan to add online payment and ticketing at its recreation parks, including this one, and was waiting for the commissioner’s go-ahead. No confirmation that it has started was found, so plan on paying at the counter and carry some cash.
The seven replicas
The park’s seven replicas were made from scrap, with the heights below given by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation at the 2019 opening, according to the Press Information Bureau and Press Trust of India reports.

Delhi Tourism says the park used 150 tonnes of waste, including scrap iron, discarded automobile parts, broken metal utensils and pipes. At the 2019 launch the corporation listed items such as fans, rods, iron sheets, nuts and bolts, bicycle and bike parts, old sewer lines and old appliances from 24 municipal stores. PTI reported that the Taj Mahal replica includes used cycle chains. The Hindu reported that the sculptures were left unpainted to show that they are made of waste, and that the park’s restrooms were built from obsolete shipping containers.
Older pages say 1,500 tons of scrap were used. The government sources say 150 tonnes.
About the park
- Location: Rajiv Gandhi Smriti Van near Sarai Kale Khan, Delhi. It is spread over seven acres.
- Built by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC). Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated it on 21 February 2019, and it opened to the public on 22 February 2019.
- Delhi Tourism calls it the world’s first theme park featuring replicas of the seven wonders made from waste products. The “world’s first” claim was made by the corporation.
- The corporation said in 2019 that the park ran on renewable energy, with 25 kW of solar panels and three 1 kW windmills. That is a 2019 statement. Delhi Tourism does not describe the current lighting.
How to reach Waste to Wonder Park
By metro: Delhi Tourism names Nizamuddin station on the Pink Line as the nearest metro station. No walking time is published, so check a maps app for the route from the station exit you use.
By road: the park is near Sarai Kale Khan. The 2019 reports describe it as being near the Sarai Kale Khan ISBT bus terminal. Parking arrangements and charges are not published on the sources used here, so ask locally or check the map before driving.
Best time to visit
The park stays open late: until 11:00 PM from Tuesday to Saturday and 10:00 PM on Sunday. That makes an evening visit possible. If you like evening parks with light shows, Nagina Wadi in Ahmedabad is a similar option. Delhi Tourism does not publish crowd levels or lighting schedules, so those are not covered here. Delhi Tourism notes the park gets large footfalls throughout the year.
