Thailand’s national park entrance fee for foreigners is set by the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP). Under the fee regulation that took effect on 7 June 2022, parks fall into four price groups. Foreign adults pay 100, 200, 300 or 500 Thai baht (THB), depending on the park. Foreign children pay half of that. Thai nationals pay lower rates. Vehicle fees are charged separately.
Last checked: 9 October 2026. This guide uses the DNP news announcement of 2 June 2022, the DNP open-data fee table updated 2 June 2023, and the DNP portal. It is not based on a visit. Rates can change by later park notices, so confirm at the gate or on the park’s own page before you pay.
Thailand national park entrance fee at a glance
The four groups below come from the DNP announcement published on news.dnp.go.th (news item 17112). That announcement summarises the regulation published in the Royal Gazette on 9 December 2021 and says the new rates apply from 7 June 2022.

Source label for the table: DNP list 2022 (news.dnp.go.th/news/17112). The Nation (Thailand) reprinted the same four-group structure on 7 June 2022. Free entry for some Thai categories (seniors over 60, children under 3, disabled people, and monks) is stated in that English report; the Thai DNP news page itself focuses on the paid rates.

Group 1: foreign adult 100 THB
Group 1 is the cheapest band for foreigners. The 2022 DNP list puts 67 parks here, including Doi Suthep–Pui (Chiang Mai), Khao Kho (Phetchabun), Khao Lak–Lam Ru (Phang Nga), Ob Luang (Chiang Mai), and many waterfall and forest parks that see fewer international day-trippers than the Andaman islands.

Group 2: foreign adult 200 THB
Group 2 covers 55 parks on the 2022 list. Well-known names include Khao Yai (Nakhon Ratchasima), Khao Sok (Surat Thani), Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi (Krabi) at the park’s base rate, Mu Ko Lanta (Krabi) at the base rate, Mu Ko Chang (Trat), Sirinat (Phuket), and Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet (Rayong) at the base rate.

Some Group 2 parks charge a higher foreigner rate for named islands or tourist zones. Those exceptions are listed further down from the DNP catalog PDF updated 2 June 2023.

Group 3: foreign adult 300 THB
Group 3 has nine parks on the 2022 announcement: Kaeng Krachan (Phetchaburi), Srinagarind Dam / Khuean Srinagarindra (Kanchanaburi), Doi Pha Hom Pok (Chiang Mai), Doi Inthanon (Chiang Mai), Sai Yok (Kanchanaburi), Than Bok Khorani (Krabi), Huai Nam Dang (Chiang Mai), Ao Phang Nga (Phang Nga), and Erawan (Kanchanaburi).

For a day trip that includes Erawan Falls, see our Erawan Falls day trip from Kanchanaburi guide. The park fee above is the DNP person fee only; transport and any private tour price are separate.
Group 4: Similan and Surin (foreign adult 500 THB)
Only two parks sit in Group 4: Mu Ko Similan and Mu Ko Surin, both in Phang Nga. Foreign adult 500 THB, foreign child 250 THB, Thai adult 100 THB, Thai child 50 THB. Source: DNP list 2022; the same figures appear on the catalog PDF of 2 June 2023.
Open-season dates, pier rules and how day trips are sold are covered in our Similan Islands open season guide. This page is only about the entrance fee bands; it does not repeat season calendars.
Exceptions: Phi Phi, Maya Bay, Khao Yai and other higher zones
The 2022 four-group list is the base regulation. The DNP open-data catalog publishes a park-by-park table (PDF resource entrancefee020666.pdf) marked as updated on 2 June 2023 (Buddhist Era 2566). That table keeps the group rates for most parks and adds higher foreigner rates for named islands or tourist zones. Label for the rows below: DNP catalog, 2 June 2023.
| Park / zone | Foreign adult / child (THB) | Notes | Source label |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi (park base) | 200 / 100 | Matches Group 2 | DNP catalog, 2 June 2023 |
| Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Le (incl. Maya Bay), Bamboo Island | 400 / 200 | Higher island rate; Maya Bay is inside this park | DNP catalog, 2 June 2023 |
| Khao Yai (park base) | 200 / 100 | Matches Group 2 | DNP catalog, 2 June 2023 |
| Khao Yai tourist zone (Nen Hom gate to Chao Pho shrine) | 400 / 200 | Higher zone rate on the same PDF | DNP catalog, 2 June 2023 |
| Mu Ko Lanta – Rok, Hai, Ha and named rocks | 400 / 200 | Base Lanta remains 200 / 100 | DNP catalog, 2 June 2023 |
| Mu Ko Ang Thong – named islands | 300 / 150 | Base Ang Thong remains 200 / 100 | DNP catalog, 2 June 2023 |
| Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet – named islands | 300 / 150 | Base Samet remains 200 / 100 | DNP catalog, 2 June 2023 |
The DNP portal page for Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi (portal.dnp.go.th, content for that park) confirms park contacts and that foreigners may face special service fees at some attractions, but the numeric 400 THB island rate used above is taken from the catalog PDF, not from a separate English tariff board we could download on 9 October 2026. Tourism Authority of Thailand’s attraction page for the same park has listed foreign adult 400 THB in search indexes; we could not pull a full live tariff block from that URL on the check day, so treat TAT as supporting context only.
Maya Bay and Phi Phi fees belong on this national fee page. We are not publishing a separate Maya Bay ticket post.
Vehicle fees (extra)
Person fees do not include bringing a vehicle into the park. The 2022 DNP announcement lists:

| Four-wheel vehicle | 30 | DNP list 2022 |

| More than six wheels, not over ten | 200 | DNP list 2022 |
| Helicopter | 2,500 | DNP list 2022 |

Northern waterfall stops such as Khun Si Waterfall are not always inside a fee-charging national park; check the local site before you assume a DNP ticket applies. For a wider itinerary shortlist, see best places to visit in Thailand.
How payment usually works
Most land parks still collect the person fee in cash at the entrance booth. Marine parks that sell day trips often collect the fee at the pier or through the tour operator; ask whether the quoted tour price already includes the park fee. We did not verify a single nationwide e-ticket rule for every park on 9 October 2026. Similan has its own booking practice in season; use the Similan season guide linked above for that detail.
Keep the ticket stub while you are inside the park. The Phi Phi DNP portal page asks visitors who have paid to carry the fee card for checks.
