Las Vegas to Antelope Canyon distance: neither the National Park Service nor Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation publishes a single official road mileage from Las Vegas to the canyon. Page, Arizona — the usual overnight base next to Glen Canyon / Lake Powell — is about 276 miles (445 km) from the Las Vegas Strip on two OpenStreetMap route calculators run on 6 November 2026 (OSRM 276.3 mi; Valhalla 276.4 mi). The Upper Antelope Canyon area east of Page comes out at about 285 to 287 miles (459–462 km) on the same engines. Drive-time estimates without stops range from about 4 hours 30 minutes to just over 6 hours, because the two engines model speeds differently. With fuel and meal stops, most self-drivers should allow roughly 5.5 to 7 hours each way. The usual corridor is I-15 northeast out of Las Vegas, then connecting state roads onto US-89 near the Kanab / Fredonia area, and US-89 south into Page.

Last checked: 6 November 2026. Distance and time figures are from OSRM and Valhalla (OpenStreetMap) that day. Tour and entry rules come from Navajo Nation Parks – Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park and the authorised Antelope Canyon operators list. Page / Glen Canyon access notes come from the NPS Glen Canyon directions page. Time-zone rules come from NIST. Where sources differ, both numbers are shown. This page is not based on a personal visit.

*Calculations from the Las Vegas Strip (Las Vegas Boulevard at Flamingo Road) to downtown Page (approx. 36.9147, −111.4558) or the Upper Antelope area (approx. 36.8619, −111.3743). The two engines model speeds differently, so the range is shown rather than an average. Estimates only — real times depend on traffic, weather, works and stops. Navajo Parks lists park GPS 36.89755, −111.36576 on its Lake Powell page (nearby; not the routing endpoint used here).

The route, step by step

  1. Las Vegas to Utah on I-15: leave the Strip on I-15 northeast through North Las Vegas toward Mesquite and St. George. This is the long freeway leg.
  2. Across the Arizona Strip to US-89: both engines leave I-15 near Hurricane / St. George and use connecting Utah and Arizona state roads (including SR-9, SR-59 and AZ-389 on the 6 November 2026 paths) to reach US-89 near Fredonia / Kanab. Forcing a Kanab waypoint barely changes total distance. Many atlases simply call this corridor “via Kanab on US-89”.
  3. US-89 south to Page: from the Kanab / Fredonia area, US-89 runs into Page. NPS says Wahweap is three miles north of Page on US-89, and Horseshoe Bend is about five miles (8 km) south of Page on US-89.
  4. Page to the canyon: Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon are on Navajo Nation land near Page. Private cars do not enter the slots — authorised operators run the visits.

Fuel stops and practical notes

  • Services: Mesquite (Nevada); St. George and Hurricane (Utah); Kanab (Utah); Fredonia and Page (Arizona). Fill up in St. George or Kanab — the Arizona Strip stretches are thin on fuel.
  • Page as base: most visitors overnight in Page, take a morning canyon tour, and often add Horseshoe Bend or a Glen Canyon viewpoint (NPS Glen Canyon directions).
  • Live roads: check az511.gov, Utah 511 / UDOT, and nvroads.com on the day. This page does not treat any single construction bulletin as permanent.
  • Day trip: a same-day Las Vegas return means roughly 9 to 13 hours of driving before tour time. An overnight in Page is the calmer plan.

Guided tour only — Navajo Tribal Park rules

Upper Antelope Canyon (Tse’bighanilini) and Lower Antelope Canyon (Hasdez’twazi’) sit in Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park, run by Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation — not the NPS. The official operators page states that all Lake Powell – Antelope Canyon locations are only accessible via guided tour and that tour guides are mandatory. Book from the Navajo Parks list.

  • Navajo entry fee: $15 per person, per location, per day (the Lake Powell page also says “per entry”). Guided tours cost extra. Prices are in US dollars.
  • Optional INR guide: frankfurter.app (ECB) on 5 November 2026 listed 1 USD = 94.48 INR, so $15 ≈ ₹1,417. Confirm the live rate on your booking day.
  • Park passes: Navajo Parks says NPRD does not accept the National Park Pass.
  • Holiday closures: Thanksgiving Day, Navajo Nation Family Day (day after Thanksgiving), Christmas Day and New Year’s Day (Lake Powell page).
  • Upper Canyon limit: as of 1 May 2011, a two-hour limit inside Upper Antelope Canyon.
  • Tour detail: keep this page to the drive. Slot types and booking tips: Upper Antelope Canyon. Operators: official list.

Time zones: Las Vegas, Arizona and the Navajo Nation

  • NIST: Arizona does not observe daylight saving time, except the Navajo Indian Reservation, which does.
  • 2026 DST window (NIST): 2:00 a.m. Sunday 8 March to 2:00 a.m. Sunday 1 November 2026.
  • After 1 November 2026 (including today, 6 November): Las Vegas is on Pacific Standard Time; most of Arizona and the Navajo Nation are on Mountain Standard Time — so Page / Antelope clocks are 1 hour ahead of Las Vegas until DST returns in March 2027.
  • During the DST season: Las Vegas (PDT) and most of Arizona (MST, no DST) show the same clock, but the Navajo Nation is 1 hour ahead (MDT). Confirm which zone your tour voucher uses, especially for early slots.
