Jungfraujoch ticket price: a standard adult return ticket from Interlaken Ost to Jungfraujoch costs CHF 224.40 (2nd class) from 1 November to 12 December 2026, according to the official Jungfrau Railways price list. In the summer season (1 May to 31 October 2026) the same ticket was CHF 261.20 plus a compulsory CHF 10 seat reservation, so CHF 271.20. With a Half Fare Card the winter return is CHF 112.20, with a Swiss Travel Pass it is CHF 151.20, and Jungfrau Travel Pass holders pay CHF 63 for the connecting ticket (CHF 89 in summer, including the reservation), according to the official jungfrau.ch price calculator. Children under 6 travel free.

Last checked: 31 October 2026. All fares come from jungfrau.ch (the official Jungfrau Railways website): the price list valid 14 December 2025 to 12 December 2026, the online price calculator, the FAQ and the pass pages. Prices are in Swiss francs (CHF) and include 8.1% Swiss VAT. Fares are seasonal, so each price below says which season it applies to. Nothing on this page comes from a personal visit.

Calculator prices were read on 31 October 2026 for a return trip from Interlaken Ost on 15 November 2026 (winter fare) and 31 October 2026 (last day of the summer fare). The calculator says its prices are calculated automatically and are not guaranteed. The winter and summer no-discount fares match the official price list.

Which season are you travelling in?

The Jungfrau Railways charge two seasonal fares on the mountain section (Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and Wengen up to Kleine Scheidegg, Grindelwald Terminal to Eigergletscher, and Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch). The current price list defines them like this:

  • Season 1 (lower fare): 14 December 2025 to 30 April 2026, and 1 November to 12 December 2026.
  • Season 2 (higher fare): 1 May to 31 October 2026. In this period a seat reservation is compulsory for trips to the Jungfraujoch, and the CHF 10 fee is not included in the price list fares.
  • From 13 December 2026: the published price list ends on 12 December 2026. For a trip on 20 December 2026, the official price calculator already shows CHF 225.60 return from Interlaken Ost with no card (CHF 112.80 with a Half Fare Card and CHF 151.20 with a Swiss Travel Pass). We could not find a new official price list document yet, so treat these as provisional.
  • Summer 2027: no fares are published yet. The price calculator gives no price for June 2027. jungfrau.ch already says that the seat reservation will be compulsory again from 1 May to 31 October 2027.

Jungfraujoch fares from each starting point

These are the full adult return fares in 2nd class from the official price list (valid 14 December 2025 to 12 December 2026), with no discount card. The summer fares do not include the compulsory CHF 10 seat reservation.

The jungfrau.ch ticket pages advertise the Jungfraujoch return ticket “from CHF 129.60”. On 31 October 2026 the price calculator gave exactly that figure for a Half Fare Card holder travelling from Grindelwald Terminal in summer, including the reservation. It is not the price most visitors pay.

Jungfraujoch ticket price with a Swiss Travel Pass

With a 2nd-class Swiss Travel Pass, the official price calculator gives CHF 151.20 return from Interlaken Ost in the winter season and CHF 189.60 in the summer season (including the CHF 10 reservation). The price is the same whether you start from Interlaken Ost or Grindelwald Terminal. Compared with the full fare, that is roughly 30 to 33% less (our calculation).

  • Flex pass: the jungfrau.ch FAQ says you must validate a travel day on a Swiss Travel Pass Flex to get free travel to Wengen, Mürren and Grindelwald and the discounts on the mountain railways.
  • Seat reservation: the pass does not cover the CHF 10 reservation, which is compulsory from 1 May to 31 October.

Jungfraujoch ticket price with a Half Fare Card

The jungfrau.ch FAQ says the Half Fare Travelcard and the Swiss Half Fare Card are valid on the entire Jungfrau Railways network. The price calculator gives CHF 112.20 return from Interlaken Ost in winter and CHF 140.60 in summer (half of CHF 261.20, plus the full CHF 10 reservation). From Grindelwald Terminal it is CHF 100.60 in winter and CHF 129.60 in summer.

Jungfraujoch with a Jungfrau Travel Pass

The Jungfrau Travel Pass gives unlimited travel in the Jungfrau Region for 3 to 8 days, including mountain railways, cable cars, trains and boats. The trip up to the Jungfraujoch itself is not included: jungfrau.ch says pass holders visit it “at a special price” with a connecting ticket:

  • CHF 63 from 15 December 2025 to 30 April 2026 and from 1 November to 12 December 2026.
  • CHF 89 from 1 May to 31 October 2026, including the compulsory paid seat reservation.
  • The connecting ticket is free for children under 16 who have a Jungfrau Travel Pass. It can only be used while the pass is valid.

Source: jungfrau.ch Jungfrau Travel Pass page, checked 31 October 2026. The page does not explain who qualifies for the “Adults reduced” price, so ask when you buy. An extension day costs CHF 45 (CHF 35 reduced) and is free for children.

For a Jungfraujoch trip, a 3-day pass plus the winter connecting ticket costs CHF 273 for an adult (CHF 210 + CHF 63, our calculation). That is more than the CHF 224.40 single return, so the pass only pays off if you also use other mountain trips in the region during those days.

Seat reservation (CHF 10)

  • Price: CHF 10 per person, valid for the return journey on the Jungfrau Railway from Eigergletscher or Kleine Scheidegg.
  • Compulsory: 1 May to 31 October 2026, and again 1 May to 31 October 2027 according to jungfrau.ch. Children need one too in that period. Outside those dates, jungfrau.ch strongly recommends it in good weather to avoid waiting for the next train.
  • Where to book: only online at jungfrau.ch or at a Jungfrau Railways station counter. SBB counters cannot sell it. A one-way reservation can only be bought at a Jungfrau Railways sales point.
  • Time on the ticket: the time printed is the boarding time at Grindelwald Terminal or Kleine Scheidegg, so the FAQ says to leave Interlaken Ost, Wilderswil, Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald at least 30 minutes earlier.

Children’s fares

The jungfrau.ch FAQ says:

  • Under 6: always free.
  • Aged 6 to 15: free with a Junior Card or Children’s Travelpass, otherwise CHF 20. These family cards cost CHF 30 per child at any SBB station in Switzerland.
  • From 1 May to 31 October, children also need the paid CHF 10 seat reservation.
  • Family cards (Junior Card, Children’s Travelpass, Swiss Family Card) are not valid together with the Jungfrau Travel Pass or the Unlimited Jungfrau Summer Pass. Children aged 6 to 15 need their own pass at CHF 30.

Worked example: a family of four

Two adults and two children aged 6 to 15, return trip from Interlaken Ost on a winter-fare date (for example 15 November 2026), using the official fares above (our calculation):

Adults travel withAdultsChildren (CHF 20 each)Total
No discount card2 × CHF 224.40 = CHF 448.80CHF 40CHF 488.80
Half Fare Card2 × CHF 112.20 = CHF 224.40CHF 40CHF 264.40
Swiss Travel Pass2 × CHF 151.20 = CHF 302.40CHF 40CHF 342.40
The cost of the Half Fare Card or Swiss Travel Pass itself is not included. If the children have a Junior Card or Children’s Travelpass, their Jungfraujoch trip is free. On summer-fare dates (1 May to 31 October), add the higher summer fare and CHF 10 per person for the compulsory seat reservation (CHF 40 for four people).
